Bedford House are delighted to announce we are hosting a Wellbeing Festival!

At Bedford House, we are committed to providing activities that improve the wellbeing of our members and community. This is why we have decided to create the Buckhurst Hill Wellbeing Festival. 

The festival will include mindfulness and fitness taster sessions, and activities to positively benefit your wellbeing. All events are free to attend, and you do not need to be a member of Bedford House to participate!

Whilst the festival is free, you must book activities to attend. We anticipate a high demand for our tasters, so early booking is recommended. To book, please use the links below, or give us a call on 0208 504 6668.

Pilates is a gentle method of exercise to strengthen and lengthen the muscles and improve posture. Regular classes aim to give you a stronger, more flexible, balanced body and a sense of inner calmness. Pilates is an exercise system designed in the 20th century by Joseph Pilates.

In a practice, body movement, breathing techniques, sound meditation and mind activity are used to directly work on Qi – our energy or life force. Practiced by millions worldwide, Qigong is a powerful and effective tool for preventing illness and improving health.

Jennifer has been teaching aerobics since 2004 and she describes her style of teaching as ‘old fashioned’ aerobics but without the leotard and leg warmers! Jennifer teaches adults (18+) and welcomes people with all levels of fitness.

Join our new ballet session for dancers of all abilities. Belinda Payne will guide learners through the basics for a gentle way to exercise.

CONTEMPORARY DANCE WITH RACHEL NEWBY

This session will involve coordination exercises, use of the spine, working in parallel and turned out position and give the dancers a sense of freedom and change of dynamics. Music from across genres and decades are used to change the pace and create different moods.

Dancing in this way requires a lovely blend of brain and body coordination which will lead to a real sense of achievement.
