Art for All student work - Lynda Wyles

Art Appreciation with Sara Svati

THURSDAYS 10:00 - 12:00

We welcome Sara Svati to Bedford House who is our new tutor for this wonderful class.

Sara Svati is an Italian-born, London-based artist working across theatre, performance, and visual arts. She is the founder and director of Orientale Sarda, a performing arts company that seamlessly blends traditional and contemporary artistic visions.

Educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, she furthered her knowledge with a Master's in Scenography and theatrical practices at the Royal Central School of Speech And Drama in London and at Comandini Theatre in Cesena. Her artworks, performances and installations have been showcased in diverse European locations, including Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, and the UK.

She was the winner of the 'Best Emerging Scenographer' issued by the KIT Company in New York in 2014.

Beyond her artistic commissions, she also works as researcher and appointed lecturer across various institutions and cultural organisations in UK and mainland Europe - sharing her insight on art history, social sciences, and contemporary visual cultures and practices.

The course will consider the technical and contextual language used in the study and understanding of art history.

Discovering Science with Michael Luper

FRIDAYS 14:00-16:00

If you want to make new friends and chat about science, then please come along and join our informal Friday afternoon club. We have a framework of subjects we like to talk about, but what we really want to do is talk about the things that are of interest to YOU, so bring your questions along so we can all share, learn and enjoy. How does the sun work, what was the big bang, How does baking powder work, what is electricity, when did life start on Earth, what causes global warming, how does GPS work, what caused the extinction of the dinosaurs, how do batteries work, what is a black hole, how long would it take to travel to the nearest star and so on. If you enjoy science and meeting people with similar interests, then we look forward to seeing you at our friendly group.

This course is generously supported by Michael Luper and facilitated by BHCA.

To enrol, please ring the office.
