Essential Need-To-Knows:
Walks start promptly at 10am so please arrive by 9.50. Walks last approximately
2 hours, with some variation depending on location and weather conditions, and are
circular, starting and finishing at the same point. The leader will circulate details of locations at the start of each term.
Walks cover a distance of between 4 to 4.5 miles and negotiate various terrains including hills, mud and the occasional obstacle.
The forest floor contains many trip hazards and proper care needs to be taken.
The walks will take place rain, snow or shine, unless conditions are dangerous.
Please make certain that the Bedford House Office has your up-to-date contact details, and also emergency contact details. We also ask that walkers have these details on their person or on their mobile phone when on the walks.
Please also let the leader and Office know if at any time you are unable to attend a walk.
What will I need to bring?
It is important that walkers have suitable footwear: walking boots are required, especially in the winter months, while trainers are unsuitable. All walkers must take responsibility for having appropriate clothing, water and any other personal requirements they need on the walks.
