First steps in Watercolour workshop

10am – 15:00pm
This workshop will cover the main watercolour techniques of wet-in-wet, dry brush, painting a wash and lifting out colour plus using wax resist. We will work from images and still life.

Fee: £31.50
(+£1 if not a BHCA member)

Materials Needed
Paints
Either pans or tubes of ultramarine, cobalt blue,
lemon yellow, yellow ochre, alizarin Crimson,
cadmium red; Cotman colours are a good choice.
Brushes
Size 10, 4 and a flat brush of 1cm – Pro-Arte is a
good make and it pays to get good quality
brushes and paint.
Paper
Bockingford NOT (not hot pressed) 140 lbs paper
– a pad of A3 or sheets of paper.
Watercolour sponge
White wax candle
Low tack masking tape
Pencil, rubber
(Materials can be purchased from Cass Art – in
central London and online, Ken Bromley online or local art shops.

Tea / coffee facilities are available but please bring a packed lunch.
