Who is the course for?
This course is suitable for beginners in creative design as well as for those who have some previous experience. The aim of the course is to help and support the development of participants’ creative & design skills whilst making a unique and impressive, yet still quite simple 3D decorative objects.
About the course
In a friendly, relaxed atmosphere the participants will learn new skills of decorative objects making, with the aim to become more confident to plan and work on their own creative projects in the future. The students will use basic art techniques such as papier mâché, paper and fabric cutting, gluing, painting, drawing, designing and modelling. The tutor’s guidance, demonstrations and one-to-one support will be available throughout the course.
Examples of making:
Decorative Greek vase, Decorative lamp shades, Button pictures, Decorative frames, Yarn birds, Decorative fruit bowl, Candlesticks, Decorative boxes, Clocks etc.
Materials to be used
The participants should bring soft pencils and a pad of A3 paper to the first classes of the term. They should be ready to bring also acrylic and water paints, brushes when needed.
All other material will be provided. The tutor will advise on other materials, if needed, as the course progresses (eg lamp shade, buttons, card boxes, wool).
